Recently a complete J-lay system was supplied to Balder of Heerme (see picture). The supply comprises the design, manufacturing and testing.

In 1999 a complete J-lay system was supplied to Saipem (see picture). The scope of supply comprises the design, manufacturing and testing of:

• Tower structure
  
• Tower angle adjustment system
  
• Pipe-handling equipment
  
• Line-up system
  
• Control system commissioning on board

The complete system can be installed and removed by the vessels own cranes.
The J-lay system was designed to handle rigid pipes with a diameter of 4" to 32" in quadruple joints in ultradeep water. Depending on the diameter of the pipe, the system is capable of laying pipe till 3000m of waterdepth.
The adjuster system adjusts the angle of the pipe-lay ramp between 90 and 1100 using a hydraulic jacking system.
